So What Makes a Good Fishing Trip ?

Start with good weather. Then throw in some good company. Fresh fish and shrimp always make for good eating.
A cold drink or two between landing a 27 inch Red fish, and you pretty much have the perfect fishing trip.
Besides, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work anytime !!!

We had a blast fishing Lake Calcaieu in south Louisiana, the week of October 23 through the 31, 1999.
A few days were cold and a few were a bit on the windy side, but the fish didn't mind
and were hungry every day it seemed.

I hope you enjoy viewing these pictures. I certainly enjoyed getting the chance to take them.

Danny caught this big old Red Fish the first afternoon. Talk about getting your blood pumping !

David is showing off some of the fish we caught the first or second day. Can't remember which.

A couple of nice Red Fish. These pictures don't do them justice.
They are a really pretty fish when they first come out of the water.

keith and redfish
This bad boy was a blast to catch. When you set the hook these guys take off
and go from zero to sixty in about 2 seconds !!!

keith
Another Rocket Fish in the boat !!!

We were Happy Campers after a day of catching Trout and Red Fish.
Throw in a few Flounder on the side just for the fun of it.

I sure hope Gary had a good time. It's kinda hard to tell if he was enjoying himself by this picture.
"Yea, Right..." Between the three of us we caught something like 68 Trout this morning. The Limit is 25 each.
Not a bad day of fishing. Pass the Advil, my arm is falling off...
